Sunday 9th June - SubReel Cinema + JuJu & Jordash Present: The Golem: How He Came Into the World

SubReel Cinema + JuJu & Jordash Present:  The Golem: How He Came Into the World

Juju & Jordash (Golf Channel, Dekmantel) performing their live electronic rendition of the soundtrack for the film The Golem: How He Came Into the World , a 1920 classic silent horror film directed by and starring Paul Wegener.

In the 16th-century the Maharal (Rabbi) of Prague creates a giant creature from clay, called the Golem. Using a Kabbalistic spell, he brings the creature to life in order to protect the Jews of Prague from persecution. Yet the Golem which was supposed to protect the Jews goes out of control and becomes a danger to them all. This film, rooted in German expressionism, is not only one of the first films that deal with the theme of Jewish revenge, but also a precursor to many contemporary Sci-Fi films that raise the question of artificial intelligence and the risk of losing control on our technologies.

The music will consist of prepared piano, industrial soundscapes, analog effects, synthesizer sequences, guitar feedback and psychedelic ambiance.

Tako from Redlight Records / Into The Light / Music From Memory is going to set the scene with his flex on the curious the fairytale and the oddball....
